Hiking in Garibaldi Provincial Park, BC.

I love hiking. I love getting out into the woods and the mountains and surrounding myself with so much natural beauty. There's such a air of wisdom in such vast places. If you listen, the wind howling through the trees and across the mountain tops speaks to you, the streams and waterfalls whispering and thundering ancient secrets as you step through their flows. You learn so much about yourself and about your surroundings, and if you travel along with anyone else, a lot about them also.  Much advice has been relayed to me during these times, but on this particular trip, especially when the sun went down, all I could hear was: "Don't cheap out on your gear". Since then, I have always had that in the back of my mind when I am considering what to acquire for the next adventure. It's good advice. Follow it.

All smiles in the morning with a cup of tea, despite the sleepless freeze-fest of the previous night.
