Whales are awesome. Beautiful, intelligent, fascinating creatures. Yes, we saw some from our boat, while we floated around in Johnstone Strait, near Robson Bight Ecological Reserve, just off the North Eastern part of Vancouver Island. The photos don't do justice to the movement of those creatures, their size, their presence, or the calls they made back and forth to the members of their family. I remember it all clearly, can see them surfing and playing in the wake of our boat as we drove back to Telegraph Cove into the sunset. The photos, taken from a massive whale watching vessel, don't accurately represent what I experienced from that deck. Therefore, the photos are of the landscape and the humble people I shared that experience with.
