Anyway, this isn't about that. It's about my Icebreaker. My favourite thing to wear ever. Always. Shirts, socks, toques, and yes, even my underwear. The most comfortable, easy to take care of, functional, non-stinky, best fitting clothing I have ever found.
I have worn it as my main shirt (200 Haven V-Neck) when I worked as a bank-teller (don't ask).
I wore my 260 Oasis Crew every single day for three months when I was living in my tent and sea-kayak guiding on Vancouver Island last summer. I paddled in it, slept in it, camped in it, hiked in it, spent my days off in it. I only washed it 3 times that summer, and no, it didn't stink. And yes, I'm actually wearing it while I write this.
I wore it (260 Oasis Crew, and 320 Powder Hood) when I hiked in Garibaldi Provincial Park in October, hiking up some completely obscure peak, that has no relevance what so ever, except that it's close to Diamond Head and we decided to summit it.
I also wear it every single day. At least one piece, usually more. No matter what I'm doing. Keeps me warm, comfy even if it gets wet. It allows my skin to breathe. It's not itchy. Saves me a load in laundry costs, and saves the world a load of perfectly good drinking water. Dries quick. Looks frikkin' sweet, if I do say so myself. And I just love it. I'm not even paid by Icebreaker to say this - maybe one day....
Now I'm getting organized for my big European Adventure this summer. The majority of the clothing that I'm taking will be Icebreaker. I'm so excited to not wash it.
My 260 Zephyr Hood and 150 Longsleeve Atlas. February, 2011.
